The powerful combination of award-winning apps and a proven method—YNAB’s Four Rules—has changed the lives of hundreds of thousands of people by teaching them to get control of their finances, stop stressing, and live the life they want to live. A Proven Method—YNAB’s Four Rules Rule One: Give Every Dollar A Job | Be intentional about what you want your money to do before you spend it. Rule Two: Embrace Your True Expenses | Break up larger, less frequent expenses into smaller, manageable amounts. By saving monthly for insurance premiums, holidays, or car repairs, when the time comes, your money is ready and waiting to do its job. Rule Three: Roll With The Punches | When life changes, so must your budget. Make adjustments and move along. Flexible budgets succeed because they’re guilt-free, realistic, and sustainable. Rule Four: Age Your Money | As you repeat the first three rules, you’ll increase the time between earning a dollar and the moment you need to spend it. When your money is at least a month old, you’ll have finally broken the paycheck to paycheck cycle for good. • Free... just kidding $84.

    By Brittabcd
Really hate when you download a “free” app but then once you download and create an account it says you’ll be charged $84 after a 1 month free trial. Then on top of that when they make it pretty dang hard to find where to cancel your account so you won’t be charged. Lame attempt to trick people.
  • Not a fan of the updates

    By KMB2342
I love YNAB but I hate the app updates. I want the old version back *cryface*

First 2 creditors unable to add. Tried to add the ocx ofs thing from bank well better get a degree. Unable to pay bills with this app and your going to charge for this ummm big pass on this app
  • No workflow for re-activating subscription

    By ny_gus
The app now advertises that you can manage subscription from App Store, but when I reactivated my subscription it still gives 1 option - to log out. Developer did not add option ‘restore purchase’ — so now I have bought subscription, but no way to use it
  • Keeps me on track

    By RDustinB
This app has a great layout, intuitive and concise. The app allows me to link to my bank account(s) and will auto-import any transactions I make as they clear my account. But that is not the point. The app focuses around how a budget should be done: as I am paid I decide which categories to “fund”. Then the app puts front and center the ability to track any expense I have. It took time to change my ways, but I was all in. Their support staff communication (which can be done in app, iMessage-style with a thread about a particular question) are always ready to answer questions like “how should I do X if I am currently trying to do Y”, or whatever. This tool is so generic you could pre-budget your whole month, or only budget when you get paid. It is actually up to you. The app makes thinking of credit really easy: because the app shows you all of your accounts as one pool of money you don’t really fret about “is there enough in my checking account to pay off my credit card?” I love this app!
  • Insane

The mobile software is probably the best software of any type I’ve ever used. The syncing is seamless. The built in chat support (YNAB has even answered my questions with a personal video of my budget, where they walk me through play by play a video capture of my actual budget!) is incredible. And the system is life changing. Age of money?! Amazing. The ability to track net worth, the pay down of debt, the growth of individual goals, and many other things is simply out of this world. Really impressed. A sincere thanks to the entire YNAB team.
  • Frustrating. Please add reconciling.

    By Natertots11
It’s extremely frustrating that I can’t reconcile from my rather large iPad. Please either let me access the web version from an iPad or add a reconcile button to accounts.
  • My least favorite essential app

    By Vulgar demos
This app is uniquely good in terms of budgeting philosophy. The actual experience is completely terrible. Accounts always fail to sync and are a huge pain to login to. The interface has the tiniest elements and tap areas that are impossible to get on the first try. Every little thing takes 10 taps. Clearly designed by people who use cursors all day. No swiping gestures or any modern aspects of a touch interface.
  • Bad

    By Mynameistaken8484839259402
The free trial period is a nice idea, too bad out of the 10 times I tried to use this app it couldn’t update from Wells Fargo but twice. Maybe it works good with other banks or they just had a bad month, either way it didn’t work for me.
  • Life changer

    By Barb Wittwer
This is the first time in 50 years I have felt on top of my finances. A little difficult to figure out at first but worth the struggle. The directions and tutorials aren't very clear but once you get it you will love it. I wish they had phone support. That would make it easier, but the text support is pretty good.
