Poor communication. VIP program is pathetic. Lot of problems with various parts of the game that the developers are failing to address

I have been playing this game for a year now thinking as time went on that I would get to stop spending so much money because I would have what I need. But this developer make sure that you never have what you need because they are always making it harder to kill which means you have to spend money on new monsters. I want to say so much more but I think this sums it up.

When this game first came out I loved it. Spent time and money on it to the tune of close to $45.00 every month. Then they started to “improve” it. With every new release came problems till it was unplayable by those who had devices older than a 2 years. To be fair, they mostly fixed those problems although the game is still glacially slow in loading battle screens and going from section to section. To this day it still seems they are more concerned with how the graphics look as opposed to can people actually play it. Then came the naked money grab.... I don’t mind spending money on a game I enjoy as long as I feel I am getting value. I spent early on and built a core deck of game cards that were serving me well - and I continued to play, and spend. Then they changed the game and the odds. Made it next to impossible to get a weekly new event deck without spending over $1,000. Seriously. They asked what tactics in player vs player play ever used most successfully and we answered. Then they started to talk about changing those very same tactics that many use. They had top limits for cards for over a year - things we all strived for and wanted. Now the top limit is unreachable without spending the equivalent of a mortgage payment weekly. They give duplicates of cards and items already in inventory without giving the items needed to upgrade or obtain the playable cards. While I still play the game I won’t spend on it anymore. The bottom line is this - UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO SPEND HUNDREDS PER WEEK DON’T BOTHER WITH THIS GAME.

All games need to make changes and improvements to evolve and remain fun, interesting and rewarding. I have played this game for nearly two years and have seen many changes. Some changes I’ve seen were great and improved the game. Recently too many ‘good ideas’ have been tried with rapid succession with little to no forethought and even less communication to the player community. Many of these changes seemed to be changes for the sake of change and have fallen flat and angered me and many other players. A collection of passionate players often give feedback to the developers regarding changes made or changes desired (mostly simple things that would improve game experience ). Often the feedback is disregarded or given a rote answer. The customer service is atrocious. Too many aspects of the game are overpriced and relying on big spenders. I feel that this is a poor approach to financial stability. Lower cost in game purchases would likely have more buyers at a more steady rate. The poor service, pricing and inept game changes are causing the player community (which is an amazing group of people) to become increasingly frustrated and cancel their subscriptions or quit the game all together. I’ve seen too many players spend way too much money to be competitive and then burn out from the game after only a few months. Will I keep playing? Yes. There are still many aspects of the game that are enjoyable, especially the interaction with other players, that will keep me playing. Would I recommend this game to anyone? If asked a year ago I would have said ‘Yes’. But now with too many flop changes and overpriced in game purchases I would not recommend this game to anyone.

The game was great. The gameplay has plummeted. The community of players is the best I’ve ever been a part of. I’ve made great friends and built lasting relationships that will continue long after this game implodes from greed.
  • Money Grab

    By Big buck$$ to play
Unfortunately, this is a pay to win game that doesn’t need to be. Developers have become more and more focused on getting a small number of people to spend ridiculous $$, rather than getting a large player base to spend a reasonable amount of money. VIP costs $30/month. Unfortunately, you have to spend at least another $400-500/ month if you want to be remotely competitive. It is a fun game, but not that fun. And, game play is going downhill. Most things have become a boring grind with the exact same rewards week after week. HARD PASS!

I have been playing this game for about a year now. I used to love it, but in the last 4-5 months the insane amount of changes the Devs have made are on the verge of destroying the game. The Devs do NOT listen to the players, all they care about is their bottom lines. I just wanted to say you guys are hypocrites and liars for a number of months you have touted this rhetoric of make our old elder/legacy cards useful and competitive to use in the current iteration of the game as the newer cards have an increased power creep from week to week. If you are going to put procedures in place to make these cards useless then there is no point collecting them and no point to the commander, slayer and mage events that we compete in. As a current standing the GVG events is the main constant for a player vs player style event in a team setting where players have the opportunity to test there teams against each other, there strategy’s against one another and have the opportunity to build different type of decks to battle with. You have destroyed what was once a really good game and turned it into something that looks like a dictatorship that will only allow a certain card by played in a certain manner and ban the older cards we’ve collected over time making our hard work and dedication useless which is unfair on all. So I implore you to disengage in implementing these new warden changes and let the players to continue using the turn delay method until you realise how you are going to fix the state of the game or any only players with multiple ascended wardens will win the GvG
  • Five star Game crushed to 2 stars or less

    By Todd Oakton
I’ve been playing this for almost a year And was instantly captivated by the match three game play in guild team environment. When I first started playing there was a fairly acceptable balance between paying to go far in the game quickly and playing a respectable amount of time to build your teams and support your guild over time. Unfortunately over the past several months many changes (including an upgrade to 3.0 which seems to have amplified the problems it was designed to solve) It seems that the developers have Made changes that are favorable only to those who have one heck of a lot of money to spend To remain competitive in the very top ranks. In its present state this is a terrible game for a new or free player to be in which is why I’m giving it 1 star. I will update this review and 30 days when I will make a decision either to stay with it or MoveOn.
  • Good game if you like spending money

    By Melow1204
I loved this game from the start but now it has become a money pit and very repetitive if you have $ to burn and hour to waste this is the game for you also it is setup to exploit ppl with gambling problems and push them to spend spend spend
  • Constant changes

    By 1SourApple
The developers for this game constantly change to format to increase the amount of money needed to do well. Unless you want to spend several hundred dollars a week to be competitive, I wouldn’t recommend you play. Every change the developers make is to boost sales, giving no regard to quality or customer satisfaction. Download a different game.
