I started using Nomorobo last year and it performed very well, BUT it is nearly impossible for anybody to keep up with the scammers out there because they create (steal is a better word, but actually “spoof” is the correct term) hundreds if not thousands of phone numbers from real people. I’ve since found an app that (unlike Nomorobo) affords me to send the scoundrel caller to a fake “the number you are calling is no longer in use or has been disconnected. If you feel you have reached this number in error, please consult with directory assistance.” I also benefit from a free app from my specific cell phone service company that is good at blocking scoundrels that slip past other apps. The developer of Nomorobo needs to COMPLETELY stop informing me the call coming into my iPhone is a “scoundrel” and just kill and BLOCK the jerk, like newer apps are doing. Hard to believe that I was excited about Nomorobo many months ago and now I consider it more like a 2002 Plymouth compared to a 2018 Corvette.
  • Updates Not Happening, No Tech Support

    By NorthernHarrier
I signed up for Nomorobo on my Comcast landline phone account - it’s free - so I wanted to try the app for my iPhone 7, which I use with Comcast wireless service. Unfortunately, 24 hours after signing up for the two-week free trial, the hourly updates stopped. I checked all the phone settings and could not find anything wrong. I sent an email to the app tech support address asking for help. It’s been over a week, and I’ve not received an answer. Without updates and without any help to get the app working, it doesn’t make any sense for me to purchase the app after the trial period ends. I hope you have a better experience with Nomorobo than I did.
  • Doesn't catch all the scammers, but at least I feel like I'm doing something

    By Liregr
Without doing a thorough review of my call history, I'd say that Nomorobo correctly identifies about half of the presumed robocalls I get. (I don't answer if I don't know the number, so I can only assume the random numbers that don't leave messages are robo calls). The identified robo calls aren't blocked, but if I'm reading it right, identifying them as robo calls is the best the app can currently do. The last robo call I got wasn't identified as a robo caller when my phone rang, but when I looked it up in nomorobo, it was marked as a robo caller (and after that the app correctly flagged the number in my phone). Occasionally I get a legit robo call (like from my trash company) that gets flagged, but they leave messages, so it doesn't matter if I don't answer. Even though this isn't the most effective app, I still like it and will continue to pay for it because I feel like reporting numbers is the only thing I can do to "get back" at the people setting these scams up. It's cathartic, if not tremendously effective. I'd love to see a drop-down menu of choices for the "why are you reporting this number" instead of (or in addition to) the free-form text box. I would think that standardized answers would improve whatever analysis is going on behind the scenes, and people would be more likely to report numbers if they could tap once in a pre-filled reason instead of typing one out.
  • Diminishing returns

Ran this app for 6 months. It blocked a few calls in the first month or two. After that nothing. I suspect it is still too difficult for this app to keep up with the spam industry.
  • It's a good product

Works like it is supposed to
  • If I could get rid of one app, this is it!

    By robkhoo
I bought the yearly plan earlier this year. The app is really quite ineffective since people can spoof calls so there really is no way to block calls. For the more I run the app on an iPhone 6 Plus and the iOS keeps turning my blocking preferences off in the settings. Every week I have to go back to settings to turn the blocking back on. I've tried uninstalling the app and then reinstalling it and it doesn't help as iOS just does not work with this app. I tried to get a refund for the unused months back but all I get from the company is a useless help page that tells me to uninstall and reinstall the app, so goodbye NomoRobo.
  • Waste of money. Blocks 1 in 10 calls !!!

    By Puzzlemaster11112
I thought it worked well for the first few days and told a few people about this app. Seems it was just coincidence. Since then, the block rate has been low to negligible. When you report a block call (using the share functionality), the App shows the transcript of the robot voice text. So, if Nomorobo knows that it is spam, why does it allow it to come thru? Also, I don't get an update on what happens to the calls that I report, which would have been useful as it would show that so action is being taken... a great concept, addressing a real need, but poorly executed. Result - waste of money.
  • Disappointed

I bought the whole year and it worked well for about 2 weeks. Now it just stops working and has to be reinstalled. It’s very frustrating.
  • Sending the call to voicemail is not blocking

    By ColeSmash
I work in the telecommunications industry. We have our landline customers sign up for this service all the time. Unfortunately not actually blocking the calls on my cellphone and directing them to voicemail is not what I am signing up for. I started my free trial today. I canceled my subscription immediately and deleted the app. I filed a complaint with the FCC. My only option is to change my number.
  • Still getting spam calls...

Frequency of these calls hasn’t changed much at all since downloading. This app needs to be revamped and made to be much more powerful.
