  • Eh..could be better

    I like the simplicity of the workouts, but the app could use a lot of work. Instead of showing a video of each workout in the circuit, you have to watch a video of the entire circuit. If I need to rewatch a part of the workout, it forces me to go through the entire video, which is extremely disruptive. I also found that there isn’t enough I formation regarding reps. For example, the app may say 10 reps for alternating lateral raises. Does this mean 5 reps each arm, or 10 reps total? There also isn’t a lot of other content on the app. The recipes are minimal.

    To preface this review I want to say I have been a personal trainer for 15 years, taught group fitness for 10 years and have finished a half Ironman 6 years ago. With this being said you would think I could workout on my own...guess again. I was in great shape but after the Ironman I continued to eat like I was still training. My motivation was crap and I felt terrible. This app is so perfect in every way. I will cheat when I make my own workouts but I won’t cheat on Carmen😂. The preview before the workout is great so you can get equipment ready, the warmup prepares you and the workouts are Phenomenal !!! Simple yet very effective exercises and the workouts are quick, no hours in the gym required. I like that she isn’t doing the workout with you. You don’t feel inclined to “keep up” which often times happens and can lead to injury and burnout. I am about to finish week 2. I am turning 50 in May and am hopeful this will help me feel and look as good at 50 as I felt at 40!! Give this app a try you will not be disappointed.

    I found Carmen on IG and completed one of her 13 week challenges using her app. I love her app! Super easy to use and she has pics/videos to show the moves. You do 5 workouts a week: 2 Booty, 1 Upper, 1 Total Body, & a HIIT. I love her focus on weight training vs cardio. I’ve seen awesome results (2 pant sizes down & 13 #s lost) and am excited to see what my 12 month subscription does for me. Such a great deal!

    Let me start out by saying I love Carmen and her workouts are awesome! I follow her on instagram and was SO excited when she came out with an app. However, once my year subscription is up I will not be renewing. The first couple of months I was super into the app but then I got bored. This may be because I like HITT workouts and she just doesn’t have enough of those on the app for me. The app is SUPER focused on booty. Two booty workouts a week are WAY too many for me. My butt got so big that my pants started to fit weird. If you want to build your booty this app is for you. Good luck!!

    If you follow these workouts, you are guaranteed great results! The workouts are short enough to be able to fit them into a busy schedule but extremely effective at the same time! Love all the variations in the workouts and the different options (beginner, main, and HIIT). My favorite thing is that if you reach out to Carmen through email, Facebook, or Instagram, she is always pleasant, helpful, and encouraging! There are occasional bugs in the app but again if you reach out to Carmen and the support team, they work quickly to fix any issues. Great app to get in shape in the comfort of your own home!

    I used to follow Carmen on Instagram and save her workout previews. I’m glad I can access all her workouts now in one spot. The workouts are really challenging but short which means you can knock them out and have time to recover and get on with the rest of your day. The best thing about these workouts is that Carmen includes the weights progression for you so you don’t have to guess how much to increase your weights by to get best results. Second best thing is I can still play my music while I watch the exercise previews :)

    I started using this app over 6 months ago and I love it! The workouts in this app are easy to follow and you can choose from different programs. I have lost inches on my waist, thighs and arms, as well as 15 lbs. But more importantly I have gained a lot of muscle and strength with Carmen’s help through this app. I would recommend this to someone who wants to workout from home or someone who doesn’t know what to do in the gym. You can use the free weights, kettlebells in the gym and follow the circuits and feel like a pro! I workout from home and I only had to get a few things to start which weren’t expensive. I workout when it works for me and the comfort of my home.

    Nothing wrong with the workouts, absolutely enjoy Carmen and her energy. I highly suggest following along on her Instagram or YouTube account. My problem is with the app or who it’s powered by. I purchased the beginner level workouts but didn’t really like having to look at my phone so much while working out. I went to cancel my subscription on the app and every time I clicked cancel the app would crash. Every. Single. Time. I tried tapping the contact up menu and I would get pop-ups saying it wasn’t available at the moment. I then tried going to the website and couldn’t login because it said that I wasn’t a recognized user. This has been over the course of three days, thinking that the app just wasn’t working the first day. Don’t purchase this app. You’ll get bamboozled like me.
  • The app requires too much work to operate

    I love following Carmen on IG. She posts such great workout videos. But this app takes way too much work and input from me during the workouts. Don’t get me wrong, I like the actual work outs. But, I don’t like that you only get a small video clip of each circuit. Some of the picture breakdowns weren’t clear enough, so I’d have to play the preview clip over and over and over again to see how the movement should be executed. In order to do this, I had to keep putting down my weight and pressing play each time. And oftentimes, it would stall and not play the clip of the first movement, so I’d have to wait for it to play out in order to see the first one. It would have been much more helpful and effective if the video just showed her doing the 10 reps of each movement, rather than just 2. And I don’t like that the warm up and cool downs aren’t broken down by motion, you only get a small clip of them, telling you to do 8 reps. But the clip shows just 4 (for example), so you have to stop in the middle of your reps to press pause in order to finish the reps before the clip shows the next movement. It’s all very cumbersome and just requires too much stopping and starting and pausing and interruptions and I wish I hadn’t spent $70 or however much I spent for the year access plan.
