  • Issues with Sports

    By doddphd
One of the big draws for YouTube TV is it’s great selection of sports channels. I was paying Charter/Spectrum $122 a month to be able to watch and record these channels. Unlimited recording is also good. Here are my issues. Every sport will occasionally display team standings or an individual’s stats and so you pause to take a look. iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV apps all dim the screen and then place control icons across the image making it impossible to view. That’s simply poor design. It lacks slow motion. This is really important to a lot of sports fans and would be a great feature to implement. Other stuff: It is oddly slow reaching HD when you start watching a show that is currently being recorded. Commercials: If the show you “recorded” is streamed from a network, you can’t fast forward through the commercials. If it’s streamed from Google, you can jump 15 seconds at a time. You often can’t tell what advertiser is supporting your show and weather you might actually be interested. It would be nice if google could work with the networks to produce a standard like YouTube, where you can skip forward after seeing a few seconds of a commercial.
  • Live TV & Recorded Content Consistent Issues

    By 49er4evr
World Cup Final Live TV problems. Audio cutting out, can’t play in 1080p, picture freezes and buffers. Recorded issues have quality issues. Can’t play in HD 720p or 1080p. Can stream all other streaming formats without issue in FULL HD 1080p 60 FPS. YouTube & YouTubeTV cannot. Terrible
  • Needs Picture-In-Picture & Split Screen

    By Phantom Pathfinder
I like YouTube TV, but the iPad app needs picture-in-picture support. Competitive offerings such as Hulu Live TV, DirecTV Now & PS Vue all support picture-in-picture, which is a must-have feature. But not YouTube TV, which is pathetic. Also, YouTube TV lacks support for split-screen view, which allows you to multitask & use another app while watching video. This is very strange considering that the rest of Google’s apps, including YouTube, support split-screen. Come on Google, support picture-in-picture for the YouTube TV app on the iPad, or, at the very least, support split-screen/multitasking! Otherwise, it’s a great product.
  • Still want background playing

    By 3855312799432
Good app but still wish it kept playing in the background if I go to check email or respond to a text, etc. I’m surprised the regular YouTube app offers this (for a ridiculous fee) but the YouTube Tv app doesn’t (when we are already paying a subscription fee to use it). Multitasking needs to be enabled. Otherwise no complaints.
  • great, just one thing

    By sirmaxchoi
This is a great app and service to watch tv easily and in a interface that makes sense. I like the fact that you can schedule recordings of movies and shows with just one tap- everything about it is fluid and simple. Just one thing— I have an iPhone X as my main viewing device and wish to use the full display to view TV. The YouTube app allows me to punch out to use full screen but this one doesn’t seem to have that. If that’s added, this app is perfect.

If you don’t live in a big city it isn’t available in your area.
  • Way too much commercial

    By Oc, ca
I watched a movie and it had ton of commercial. This is just stupid to pay for watching commercial.
  • Not "live" nor "tele"vision at all

    By ytaima
This is my first review on the Apple Store. Apparently the people who designed this overpriced and underperforming service have no clue how and why the Internet works the way it does, nor the difference between hertzian and tcp transmission. Whatever live event you may be watching, prepare for a 10-30 second delay beyond cable and air transmission. Not only that, you'll be treated to the app suddenly hanging up and requiring everything to be reset - while your team just scored a touchdown or a goal! Worse, for live Youtube clips the thing inexplicably resets to the beginning of the clip - it just did that for me while watching a live event, twice in less than 15 minutes - and then you have to scroll to the current moment, a few seconds at a time as there's no fast forward. So if your event started 5 hours ago, well, keep that finger on the button and...wait. The more the live event is popular, the more hangups you get. Good luck trying to watch the World Cup final with this overpriced piece of junk service! What a letdown. One more thing: if you're traveling, it doesn't automatically update so you can watch live tv, and even when it does, wherever you are - in the US, we're not talking international - you may not be able to watch your program because it's "not offered" there!
  • Was charged even after I canceled before 7 days was up

    By mark4666
Be careful cause evidently even if you cancel with the 7 days they still charge you. Now I have to fight to get a refund back
  • If you like watching commercials

    By hdksnskz
I get the idea of the app and think it could potentially be great, but the amount of commercials and ads the play are insane. There’s points in the shows I watch where I literally record the amount of time it plays before the next commercial cluster, and it was a minute or two. That’s insane I don’t want to watch two minutes of a show then have to watch ads throughout the whole thing.
