  • Love Evernote, but...

    By GrammyHaus
I’ve used free Evernote for many years and have loved it. I use it for personal use only. But since the last update it’s making me crazy. It no longer keeps open my current note after I leave Evernote and go back in. I have to search for that particular note again and reopen. Huge pain.
  • Best app for writers

    By dabros200
I am a writer, and I write and edit pretty much every second of the day. Evernote makes it so easy to access my stories and my ideas within both my phone and my computer. I also have pictures of my characters that I can happily look at whenever I want to visualize what I’ve written better. Evernote is by far my favorite app. It’s so easy to use and is genuinely so beneficial to me. I would recommend this to everyone. Whether it me writing, drawing, work, or school. Evernote can help.
  • Last update just hangs

Plus can't edit. So in other words, unusable. I'm probably going to look for something else.

Edit: I am a Plus subscriber. I would like to cancel my subscription, apparently, there is no way to do that through the app. I am told that I need to do that through the web version. When I tried to access Evernote on the web I am told that I cannot do that on my iPhone and that I should download the app. I really cannot express how troublesome just trying to navigate the use of this app has become. Edit: I am a Plus subscriber. I had an issue where one of my notes was not working on the app, no information would appear. It worked fine on the web version. I submitted a ticket, however instead of receiving support from Evernote I was contacted by an “expert” user. The “expert” kept giving me suggestions for several days, however, none of her suggestions worked. I finally, on my own, removed the formatting from the note and I could finally see it again on the app. Apparently, there is a bug with formatting and CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM THE COMPANY IS NON-EXISTANT EVEN FOR PAYING CUSTOMERS. I have been an Evernote user for a long time. I started with the Basic plan and enjoyed it. When I started using it for GTD I had to move up to the Plus plan. I had a monthly fee was fine by me, as long as I felt I was getting my money's worth. However it was not working for me the way I had hoped and after a few months switched back to the Basic plan. The Basic plan suited my needs perfectly. Evernote's recent changes are disappointing. The bait-and-switch with the device limit is what is really annoying. Three devices are ideal for me (one at home, the office, and on the go) and I imagine for a lot of other people as well. It feels as if they set the limit at two to force the users who don’t use the service that often to upgrade to a pay plan. I don’t mind paying for an app or even a monthly subscription. What I don’t like is when a company switches things up on the user. It leaves a bad taste in the mouth and one has to wonder if that’s it, or are they going to do it again. We know Evernote is willing to do this to their users. What we don’t know is where they will stop. The trust has been broken.
  • Still Uploads duplicate files, uses up quota

    By voice__of__reason
When adding files or iOS Safari pages using iOS share, the app often uploads duplicates. This needlessly uses up the data quota. I just uploaded a fairly large pdf. I opened the app and there were two copies. This just used up 1/2 of the month’s quota. Seek alternatives.
  • Meh, Falcon app is a better solution for mac

    By jo jo devil
Just seems like they are really up-charging for basic features and I can’t get around that idea. I am a pretty technical person so maybe for a non-technical person this app is perfect. I tell my non-technical writer friends to use this app for android and windows, but for people who only use apple products I just can’t bring myself to give that advice. I have iCloud that I pay some incredibly low price for 20gb or something like that, which I store my Falcon app based notebooks to. Search and all that is doable too. Syncs between ipad/iphone and desktop via icloud. So for about $10 (not including icloud which i use for everything apple based) i get same thing.
  • Becoming borderline unusable

    By GCSWT
It seems to be a common occurrence now to try and open Evernote to jot something down quickly only to be met with sluggish UI and frequent frustrating states of forever waiting because the UI will get randomly blocked waiting on a response from the server. I can’t even imagine what hell it would be like to run this app on an older generation phone.
  • Convoluted to the point of being unusable

    By LynaPHTX
This app is overly complicated and has a lot of room for improvement: - pdf editing is not fast or intuitive, rendering it useless for meetings and lectures. - on handwriting, why does the ink slowly appear? That doesn’t mimic natural writing whatsoever and makes for an annoying user experience - why can’t you reorder your notebooks to your liking?? I shouldn't have to come up with some difficult-to-implement code system to achieve my preferred organization layout Good things: - scanner function is great Overall, I kind of regret my premium membership (and I bought it at a student discount!). Hopefully we see some improvements. I ended up going back to the simple, intuitive, and practical Notability app.
