  • Going out of business. Not user friendly.

Done with this app, have heard so many awful things about this company. Don’t trust your information to this excuse of a technology company. Do your self a favor and go check out Bear and their user friendly layout.
  • Great, except...

I love Evernote, I use it everyday in a sales role to track my daily activities, tasks, customer interaction. However, I wish it had an ‘undo’ button for the app! Ctrl + Z works for the online option but nothing for the app. Also, I use penultimate to write notes when I don’t have service to pull up Evernote, however it hasn’t been updated in a long time and I fear Evernote will get rid of it. Please add a handwriting app to Evernote!! And make it available offline please :)

  • Crashes, Loses Info

I use to love Evernote until recently. Now it crashes frequently and today it lost formatting of my notes and then a whole chunk of my note. Control Z wouldn’t work to undo whatever happened. Then the website version stopped loading and now I can’t access my account except on my phone. Now looking for a different program to switch to because I can’t afford to spend time dealing with this...
  • Evernote was an awesome service

The original version of this app was great, and updates had made it almost perfect. But lately it has just gotten slow and annoying. The most recent update now has it doubling most of my keystrokes so to enter any substantial text I have to go to my laptop.
  • Causes my whole iPad to freeze for several minutes whenever I use it

Title says it all. It screws up my entire iPad. Didn’t have this problem until I installed Evernote. Only happens when I use the app.

I’m a longtime premium user, and I’m not going to abandon this product. My fear is that the product is sliding toward commercial failure because of chronic quality control and reliability problems. Evernote senior management had stated the same observation, and a shift in focus to reliability over new features. But that simply hasn’t happened. The solution is simple: 1- Lockdown the feature set and UI where it is now. It’s more features than most anyone uses or needs already, and the UI tinkering goes unnoticed to most users. 2- Fix ALL of the very long list of bugs that users are reporting. Whatever and however long that takes. Make the app robust and the UI performant. Revisit the standards for this - they are set too low. 3- Now you have the gold standard that has never existed (or at least hasn’t for many, many years now). Cherish it. Do not allow random updates or “experiments” to risk tarnishing it. Start a beta program or figure out a QA program that is suitable for an enterprise-grade app. Take it seriously - you are not a startup company anymore — do as keepers of mature software should. The reason this is necessary is because you are introducing bugs at a faster rate than you are solving others. Support is responsive and earnestly trying hard, but are nowhere near keeping up. In my experience it takes a week or more of back and forth for them to be fully apprised of an issue and acknowledge it. Then the fix takes weeks or months and more often than not peters out and goes unresolved. Finally, consider a different support model for bug tracking. Rather than the private support ticket and appstore reviews, consider the open source model, with publicly viewable and efficient bug tracking catalog, etc.

Used to be great, but now when I try to type in a note, it only goes to the last line and won’t let me type anywhere else. Seriously frustrating! I have to fight and fight to most of the time just fail and wait to go to a pc.
