Description

Presented in a day-by-day format, the Magnificat App puts at your fingertips a treasury of beautiful prayers. Each day includes morning, evening, and night prayers inspired by the Liturgy of the Hours; readings and prayers of each daily Mass; daily meditations drawn from the best writings of the Church Fathers as well as recent spiritual masters; and essays on the lives of the saints from yesterday and today. Like the hundreds of thousands already reading and praying with Magnificat, this unique App will accompany and enrich your daily prayer life. The App is free for subscribers to the printed version of the US edition (need registration for access). Otherwise, it is free from the day you install the App until the end of the month; then you can subscribe online* or buy each month through the App store. We wish you prayerful moments using this one-of-a kind application, developed with your prayer life in mind! * Subscription to Magnificat through iTunes is on a yearly basis. The app reviewers made it seem as it FREE and in order to enjoy meditation you have to pay $1.99 or $19.99 for digital subscription. I want to meditate but I’m not paying a subscription fee just to get meditation so I’ll be looking for free catholic meditation online

Frustration ... DO NOT KNOW WHO TO APPEAL TO NEXT. Contact to TECH SUPPORT is not available and CUSTOMER SUPPORT has no idea who/where/ ... CUSTOMER SUPPORT is unable to provide any help. App needs to be updated for IOS 12.1.4 otherwise selected features [esp Lectio Divina]. The Lectio Divina is only available for the first Sunday of each month. Selecting LD from ‘OTHER FEATURES’ only shows you the LD for the first Sunday of that month. I called CUSTOMER SUPPORT and they supposedly do not have TECH SUPPORT. Up the creek without a paddle. Prior to 12.1.4 the MAGNIFICAT features [esp LD] worked. Per APPLE: after hours of research it was noted that the last version did not include IOS 12.1.4.

It took a little time to learn to navigate all the features. But I absolutely love this app. I have the English version and my wife the Spanish version. It has everything the printed version has plus a few more such as audio files of the daily hymns. One of the best apps I have ever had.

Excellent version of Magnificat for the iPhone. Lets you see all the artwork and features of the printed version. I have long wished for this for business trips since I must leave our printed copy at home for the family. I really appreciate the variable font size, very helpful for those with reading difficulty or eyesight issues.
  • Would be a 5 if it always worked properly.

Next month does not download automatically even though I have it set up that way. I just had to delete the app from my phone, download it from Em the cloud, reboot my phone and sign in twice to get January to load .

This app is not the same one that you get from Magnificat. The Magnificat purchase lets you use the subscription on all your devices. This one does NOT. It is limited to the device that is used in the App Store purchase ONLY. Magnificat doesn’t control this.
  • A great spiritual aid - technical problems in downloading.

November 2018: unable to download on my iPad. Extremely frustrating. Fortunately I have it on my smart phone, but why can’t I get it on my iPad this month? Arrrrrgh! December 2013: again the app is not working w/o internet connection. Is this going to happen every month? Please fix this. Update: I love this app now that it can be accessed w/o Wifi. I have a written subscription but don't mind paying an extra $1.99 a month to help support this most important publication. C'mon, that is less than a cup of coffee in most places. Isn't spiritual food worth at least that much? It's great to be able to have the Magnificat with me wherever I go. Great job! * * * I love Magnificat mag and this app is just like having it on my Ipod. But it can only be accessed with wifi. No problem if you have an iPhone but pretty much useless on the iPod unless you want to replace the magazine and be content with just using it when you can access wifi which of course rules out church.
