I am running the latest Mac OS and the latest Kindle. Kindle won’t even open. I’d be happy to pay for a version that actually worked. Absolutely terrible!
  • All is good except for one...

On Mac OS version if I scroll down to the bottom of the page it will automatically turn the pages, and it's really inconvinient and frustrating since most of the time I don't mean to turn them or I prefer to turn mannually. And the worst part is there is nowhere in the app to disable it. So I'd really appreciate if the developers can improve on this, sincie it's messed up my tracking of pages read.

My MacBook’s iOS is up to date but whenever I try to open the app, it immediately closes. So frustrating because I have my school textbooks as ebooks! Not even the browser version will open.
  • Version 1.26.1 created more problems than fixed

I recently downloaded Version 1.26.1 for Kindle. Had I known of all the problems I would encounter, I would not have done so. I am constantly receiving a message that I am not connected to the internet (yes, I am) or to check my proxies. I have a tremendous amount of problems loading the Kindle reader (usually have to restart my computer, before it will load). Once I have Kindle reader loaded, the book is sluggish. Turning the page results in the little round circle going round and round and round, while I sit and wait to continue reading. I am not sure what the “fix” was supposed to fix, but I am definitely unhappy with the results.

Seems like things are even bugger in the new update for some books. Zooming is bugged, moving the page around results in it bouncing every which way, highlighting results in the page moving around. I am sure there are many more I have not come across. If you have a pending update, put it off until the next one.
  • App continu basic functionality

I am extremely disappointed that the Kindle app for Macs is lacking very basic functionality (e.g., windowing), as it cannot open two books both purchased from Amazon simultaneously. This is an especially glaring omission given that the Apple Books app allows me to open two books both purchased from Apple simultaneously with ease. Because of this lack of basic feature support, I will no longer purchase books from the Kindle store, and will obtain all ebooks through Apple given that their app supports these very basic features.

This app is very unstable and therefore not useful.

I am a student and I use this application for my textbooks. So far, I haven’t had any issues. I’ve been using it for about 4 months now.
