ASA has built a reputation for providing the aviation community with the most accurate and reliable FAR/AIM products available. The FAR AMT app continues this tradition, containing information from Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR), as well as Advisory Circulars (ACs) pertinent to Aviation Maintenance Technicians (AMT), aircraft maintenance operations, and repair shops. In addition to all the information included in ASA’s printed FAR AMT book, this app includes the Pilot Controller Glossary and the complete Aircraft Inspection, Repair and Alterations text (AC43.13-1B and AC 43.13-2B). The app is fully searchable, with the option of narrowing your search hits to regulations, Advisory Circulars, or both. ASA FAR-AMT app features: • All of ASA's 2015 FAR for Aviation Maintenance Technician book contents are included: 14 CFR Parts 1, 3, 5, 13, 21, 23, 25, 26, 27, 29, 33, 34, 35, 39, 43, 45, 47, 48, 65, 91, 110, 119, 121, 125, 135, 145, 147, and 183. • Includes Advisory Circulars 20-62E, 20-109A, 21-12C, 39-7D, 43-9C, 43.9-1F, and 65-30A. • Includes FAA-G-8082-11C Inspection Authorization Test Guide • The complete Aircraft Inspection, Repair and Alterations (AC 43.13-1B and AC 43.13-2B) is included. • Pilot/Controller Glossary included. • Text search helps you find what you’re looking for in the FAR, ACs or both. • Profile and Landscape viewing available for easy reading and viewing figures. • Best $10 ever

The whole AC 43.13, all of the FAR's, and some AD's all in a searchable format right in the palm of your hand. My iPad sits right on top of my toolbox next to the aircraft with all this information. Just makes a mechanic been so much easier for $10. The app is self updating which makes it all the better no need to go out and buy the book every single year. Bought it once it's downloaded to my iPhone and my iPad so all this information is constantly with me. I hate to use clichés but this is a no-brainer.
  • God but could be better

Lots of information but there is no way to highlight the info for future reference. However the search is awesome and having all of 43.13 1b & 2b searchable is a wonderful feature. Now if only I could highlight...
  • Great app

Great on the go tool but not kept current. Some of the regulations have been revised but there is no update for this app.
  • Needs updating

I just purchased this in Dec 2014. It seems a neat ap, but the last time it was updated was August 2013? We need the latest the quickest, please update it! I.e., 145 is outdated.
  • Search function is a BIG plus

Now my go-to app for reading FARs. Easy updates. Search function makes looking for particular FARs a breeze. Recommended!
  • AMT

The only downside I see at the moment is you can't print. Occasionally I like to print my references when building a certification package for instance. Otherwise I love the search features. Saves a lot of time. Thanks!!
  • Functional

This app does have the FAR and works independent of internet access. That was my main reason for paying for the app. However, there are some issues that make it difficult to use. Some of the text formatting doesn't follow the outline structure of the FAR's (paragraph (a) is immediately followed by sentence (1) on the same line) which can make difficult finding the topics. Could be much better if the referenced sections and parts were hyperlinked for easier navigation. Bookmarks would be helpful.
  • Great for looking something you already know, but not much else.

This is a great idea and the information is current. I pretty much used this constantly during my classes as a reference for my flash cards app more than directly studying for it. There's two reasons why I wouldn't recommend this app: 1. You cannot highlight anything. 2. You cannot make bookmarks. I was coming from the kindle version of my FAR's and I probably would not have bought the iPad version had I known that I couldn't do this.
  • Nice!!!

Very pleased, it saves you money just to buy this app rather than FAR book, and AC 43-13.
  • Descent but...

So this app is pretty good though a little overpriced. Especially when the 'updates' appear as amendments and not in the main text of the Parts. And the updates are not even all there. The app says it is recent from April of 2011, but is missing information that is present in books that are using info from June 2010. Please update the content. The UI is basic but solid.
