I purchased both the Premium HD CoPilot Europe, and Premium HD CoPilot USA & Canada. I downloaded all of Europe for the European version, and all of the USA & Canada for the North American version. I live in Germany, and was out driving using the app on a saved location. On the way back, I wanted to enter a new destination, and found that the European version had somehow deleted itself, and I was using the USA & Canada version. I don't have any idea how this happened. The new address, in Germany, that I tried to enter wouldn't take. Only Stateside addresses came up. Got home and found I had to download the app, and complete map again. Not only that, but all of my saved destinations had been deleted as well. Wanted to copy them from my USA version, but they were gone from there as well. Another problem that I've been having, is the app asking me if I want to change maps at startup. I have purchased 3 maps now. The USA & Canada, Europe, and the Middle East. All are Premium HD versions. I'm in Germany, so I'm using the Map for Europe, yet each time I start the app, it now asks me if I want to switch to the Middle East map. I, of course, always chose "no", and would then continue with the European maps. I put up with this for quite a while, then requested help from customer support. Although I do feel that the person I was in contact with tried to help me, their help was utterly useless. I tried, several times, uninstalling, and reinstalling all maps, but this did not help. The suggestion that I got from customer service was to just delete the Middle East map. I found that to be absurd. I purchased the map to have it installed, and ready to use, for whenever I might need it. After a few days of back and forth, they weren't of much help at all. Then, after opening the app once more, and still being asked if I wanted to switch to the Middle East maps, while still in Germany, I clicked on "yes". After it switched, I clicked on maps, and then it asked me if I wanted to switch to the Europe map. I clicked "yes" on that as well. At this point, I closed the app, and reopened it. From there on, I found that it no longer asks me if I want to switch to the Middle East map. The last problem that I'm having, is trying to change my password. You can only change your password in app, and not online on your computer. That is a shame, I think, because I find it much easier to do things like that on a computer. So, while trying to change my password, I would constantly get an error, and the change wouldn't accept. There is also no option to have your password emailed to you, except from a clean install of the app. This is a major oversight. The error message also doesn't clarify exactly what is wrong either. After several tries, I was still not able to change my password. I then uninstalled the app, and reinstalled. At this point, When asked for password again, I clicked on "forgot password". Again, this option will only show immediately after a clean install, and no more. This is also another oversight on their part. With a new password in my email, I entered that, and was able to get into my account in app. At the same time, I changed my password right away. Some time later, I wanted to change my password again, but found I was unable to. At this point, I was tired of uninstalling, and reinstalling the app. I see no use for the password once entered one time anyway. Also, if I do have to reinstall the app for whatever reason, I'll just use the "forgot password" option available after a fresh install. In summery, the problems that I encountered, while frustrating, were not at all show stoppers. The app has been, and is, very useful to me. I've been using it for about 5 years now, and it has not once led me astray. For that fact alone, I would recommend this app. I do use one other nav app, and that is Waze. So, the reason for the three stars is because of the problems that I've encountered since I've been using the app. The only problem that I haven't had more than once, was when it self deleted, and that was quite a while ago. I do have this app on, when just running errands as well, and have found no other issues in use. Keep in mind, that before you do go on a trip, open up the map that you plan on using, and enter any kind of address. This will show you that the app is still working fine, or if it needs to download something. Which you can do, while you are still at home.
  • Waste of money

I have purchased the app before I travelled to France this June. The app was completely useless, did not recognize several major streets and I could not use it for navigation at all. Don't waste your money on it like I did...

Works well. Map in U.S. Not yet up to date. Somewhat confusing speed settings. All I all very useful when iPhone must be off line due to data charges. Otherwise I use Waze in the U.S.

Purchased this rather expensive app to navigate on our trip to Europe. when we pulled out of a rental agency, in the middle of an unfamiliar city, it turned out it would not update our position, or give directions, despite having a gps fix
  • Not So Good

Software is unstable, unreliable and difficult to use. Search feature is poor, lacking any intuitive capability. POI search interface is poorly designed requiring user to constantly request more categories. Would not recommend. Only purchased because Scout not available in Europe and will abandon as soon as an alternative is available.
