  • Missing words and frequent crashes

    By dnram
I chose this paid dictionary app because of its pleasant and facilitative interface. However, I am struck by a significant absence of words: namely, the words featured in the app’s daily challenge quiz. For example, I just took the challenge quiz today (2/17/2019), and I confirmed as missing the words “gamphrel,” “sniptious,” “formosity,” and “bezonian.” Obscure words, to be sure, with the exception of “formosity” perhaps. Nevertheless, such an oversight represents what I think is best described as programmed hypocrisy. There very well may be more words missing that were included in the quiz, but I stopped going through them once the app crashed yet again. When attempting to swipe between defined words, the underline that indicates which word is selected from the search history moves a little and then the whole application freezes. It is a minor annoyance, and one I expect will be patched fairly easily. Missing words in its own vocabulary quiz, though...that’s bad.

  • App crashes, gives less content than free apps

    By Shining Shadow
The app crashes after making two searches. The list of synonyms for every searched word is ridiculously brief. Free apps like give a very long list of synonyms that rank from most to least similar/relevant. The definitions are sub-par albeit they are creative; it is obvious the writers were attempting to be ultra-intellectual while creating definitions, if only for the purpose they could copyright them for being so unique. Truly a waste even of pocket change. You’ll likely learn something more from spending your $3.99 on an overpriced artisan water at the grocery store.

I use this all the time.
  • Excellent app!

I love this app and I use it extensively. I would like to have a direct way back to search. For example, if I am reading the word of the day, I have to go to the menu first and then tap on the search option. I would be nice to have a ”serch link” as ”one step” to continue searching for the next word. Thank you for this excellent app 😊

I use this app several times a day and it is probably one of the most useful I have ever installed. I recommend it for anyone who has a passion for words.
  • Excellent Dictionary!

I use this app all the time when I am reading a book and come across a word I don’t know (that happens more than I would like😉) One suggestion for improvement: show correct spelling alternatives when I misspell an entry. Google does that and it is a helpful feature.
