Excellent results 285lb squat! • I've gained 8 pounds of muscle in 3 months. • After 12 weeks I'm now aiming for the 300lb squat and getting my bench above 220lb. • In 3 weeks my squat has gone up by 45lb. It's an exercise I've struggled with in the past, but now it's one of my favourites. • Being middle aged, overweight and never lifted weight this was what I needed. I am gaining muscle and strength, losing inches on the waist and squatted 220lb for the first time. I am more than happy. Here’s how to get started with StrongLifts 1. • Good app. Needs a few tweaks.

    By Chi Chi Gonzales
This is a decent app for tracking your SL5x5 progress. The Power Pack adds some nice options but has one glaring omission - that being, you can’t reorder the assistance lift from the order they are presented in the list. ***One “workaround” is to create custom exercises and use an A, B, C format or A1, A2, A3, B1, B2, etc.***(see edit) And editing custom exercises is limited once they are created. Normally, you just have to delete and recreate the exercise if you need to change a parameter other than the weight increase. Recently saw they are going to a yearly subscription for the app. If you’re running SL5x5 for a year (or longer), you’re doing something wrong. Lastly, unless I’m just missing it, it would be nice to have the ability to add notes for a particular workout/exercise. ***EDIT: Turns out this didn’t work. The app ultimately rearranged the custom exercises randomly. Kind of annoying. ***EDIT 2: “...but it’s not that important for exercises that are just assistance. If it’s that important to you...” Spoken like someone with a very amateur knowledge of training and exercise physiology. What an unprofessional response from the developer.
  • Great program, but ...

    By fcolon4
I’ve used this program periodically for about 2-3 years. It’s been awesome, except I recently made the change from Android to IOS, and the pricing is WAY different! What the heck?!
  • Very simple and straightforward

    By Ebertini
Love the app! Just do what it tells you to do!!! Very simple interface. It also tells you which weights to load. Great feature.
  • Constantly loses workouts

    By SO terrible. So bad.
This app continually and consistently loses the data I enter into it. I tried speaking with their support and was finally told I was simply wrong, that I just hadn't entered any. This came as a surprise to me because I'd been diligently entering workouts in it from August 2017-March 2018 before it started dumping them. Which, let me be clear, it does every time now. I still use it for the timing and warmup calculations, but as a workout tracker it's become worthless. That's a shame because then interface is simple and intuitive.
  • Update

    By jdtomchick
Update: everything has been fixed and works great! Considering the subscription style. The app is great when it works correctly. It’s simple to set up and easy to use in the gym, fast too. However, I’ve had a few issues. First it wasn’t tracking body weight correctly and would randomly reset. Now, it doesn’t show the correct working weight. It says to use the same weight as the last workout even when complete all reps. It’s frustrating and makes the app pointless. I want to purchase the full version for the extra features, but definitely won’t spend money on the app until it works as intended.
  • A life-changing app

    By Buckethead31594
Before StrongLifts, I had no idea how to handle the gym. The equipment was unfamiliar to me, and the people there were intimidating. As a Marine, it’s important that I stay on top of my fitness; but I didn’t know where to start. Enter StrongLifts. Within 2 months, I went from being a nerd to a gym rat. Now I look forward to every day I get to go to the gym. I’ve made some serious gains too. This in combination with Fitbod on off days, and a good diet will lead you to success, I guarantee it. Take it from someone who never thought he would amount to anything when it comes to fitness and physique.
  • Works great!

For those starting to get into weight lifting, this app does all the jobs you need it to do (track progress easily). Big fan
  • Busy lifestyle perfect W/O

    By chadsmb
I don’t have a couple hours to spare, but I do have :45 3x a week. I found some used weight equipment with everything I need and put it in my garage. I’ve been able to gain significant strength doing just this workout. Nothing else. Thanks for the free-app. I’ll be continuing this program and upgrading to the paid app.
  • Best I’ve tried

    By Jeficito
This is the best strength building app I’ve seen yet. The program has everything. Form checklist, videos, daily email motivation and help. It even figures your warmup sets and what plates to put on the bar. Try it!!
