  • Fantastic-fast learning.

Thank you! This app has taught me much more than I knew even a month ago. I have learned so much! Your methods of learning make learning blissful and innovative. However, the speaking feature always is marked wrong, even when I know I’m saying even the simplest things right. I have noticed on forums that other people can just say things and it marks it right, but on some browsers nothing is right. I love Duolingo so much, but you really should look into the microphone feature.

Love this app. You can go back and review lessons at your convenience. You can go as fast or as slow as you want.
  • Wish they had Latin

    By Alynisky
I downloaded this app because it seemed like a great app for learning Latin but they didn’t have it! Bummer
  • Paying the subscription and still lose health

    By RyanSmithPhotography
The whole health thing is annoying. I subscribed for $10 a month! I want to learn a language I don’t want to buy gems! The only good thing about the health system is that it encourages you to go back and practice previous lessons.
  • Wonderful!!!

A while back I lived in France for a short time. But as the years have gone by, I have forgotten a lot. This app not only helped me relearn all I had once known, but I’ve learned things that somehow I never used. But then I decided to learn Spanish which I have never taken. And this app has really taught me how to get along with Spanish. I’m not done with all the Spanish lessons but I can already tell how much it has taught me. This app is the real deal. It is very intelligent how it teaches you without you realizing how much you are actually learning.

I like this app, however it doesn’t start from the basics. It expects you to know so aspect of the language you wish to speak. I feel that this app should start with learning the alphabet, or the characters or how the language works before jumping in and trying to learn words.
  • Don’t Bother With the App

I had been using the web version of Duolingo on my computer and was losing my streak whenever I wasn’t able to be on my computer, so after a month or so I decided to get the mobile app as well. I used it for about a day and a half, up until I made too many mistakes and was asked to pay $3 to keep practicing. That is unbelievable to me. If you want to keep the app free, get more advertisements. I would rather sit through a 30 second ad than have the app directly asking me for money to keep practicing a skill that it is supposed to be teaching me. I can’t see any reason to use the app again, I will just stick to the web version.

Duolingo was amazing. It was the first thing we tried and we stuck with it.
  • Hard to understand

The voices are too robotic and hard to understand. I uninstalled because of this. It’s free and that’s good. It may be useful if you already know some of the basic sounds of the language you are trying to learn.
