THE STORY BEHIND LUMOSITY We’re a team of scientists and designers exploring new ways to challenge the brain and push cognitive research forward. Our scientists take common cognitive and neuropsychological tasks, or design entirely new, experimental challenges. Working with experienced designers, they transform these tasks into fun games that challenge core cognitive skills. We also work with 40+ university researchers worldwide. We give qualified researchers free access to Lumosity training and tools — helping them investigate new areas in cognition. As we learn more about the possibilities of brain training, we invite you to train with us, and join us in our mission to advance the understanding of human cognition. The app is available in English, German, Japanese, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Korean. To access the app in one of our languages, change your device setting to the desired language. English is the default language for devices not set to one of our supported languages. • Life changer

    By Danlkenn
I can’t say enough positive things about this app. I gave the free account a try and really enjoyed the daily challenge. So much so that I upgraded to the premium account, and I’m so glad I did. Their new section on mindfulness and meditation is a life changer and so helpful for managing daily stress and anxiety. High recommend this app!

For the mindfulness exercises you need to get rid of the giant X at the top left. Or make it so it disappears after a few seconds, not a big deal just annoying having a giant X in your face
  • Lumosity Review

Love this app! It’s super fun, and offers new challenges daily. I don’t have a premium account, so I do have to wait for new games, but I don’t mind. My only complaint would be that for the game “Pet Detective”, it doesn’t show you the right answer if you get the trial wrong. It’d be nice to see what you’re supposed to do, like how they show you in “Pirate Passage”. Otherwise, I completely recommend it!

Overall I love Lumosity games. It has helped with my focus, processing speed, math calculations, memory, mental agility and flexibility. I gave it four stars instead of five because the vocabulary range of the word games is rather limited. Sometimes it won’t accept valid words and the words in the language activities get repetitive so it stops being as challenging. Also, I hate the bowling game as I either don’t understand it or I stink at it. You do not have to pay $60 a year. Wait until a holiday and the price will drop. I paid $38 a by purchasing it on Black Friday. The desktop version has more games that are not included in the mobile version. I like to play in both mediums. The desktop version also gives you more information about your progress.
  • It’s fun butttttt...

I do like this app it’s just that you get 3 brain games every day and those are the only three you can play that day. Unless you get premium then you can play all the games. If you are gonna get the app I would suggest getting premium which is 12.00 dollars a month or 47.99 a year

Please please please please! Release train of thought as it’s own app, I guarantee I will spend money on that, and I think many others would. It is an amazingly addictive and helpful training game that I wish I could play ALL THE TIME. Unfortunately the amazing game isn’t enough to justify the entire premium package for me, but I would certainly pay for just train of thought!
  • How about better variety

    By Karenlg
I get it. I don’t want to spend for all the games at one time, but the same 6-8 games over and over when I can see there are more to offer? Mix it up a bit. Other than that great games. Shows me what I might need to work on a bit more.
  • Great App, but a few problems

    By Ashlynn Grace
I love this app, but get aggravated because the games I really like to play don't come up very often. Also most games stay on for 24 hours, but almost every time I get my favorite game, it will go away within a few hours. I take a break and come back expecting to be able to play it, but it is gone! The games that I'm not as interested in playing are always there for the 24 hour period - no matter how many times I check back. I have considered purchasing the app just so I could get "train of thought," but I am not willing to pay $60 a year.
