  • Great app for "Open In..." and transferring files

    By brennaman
This is a great all-around utility for saving/opening files from most other apps, particularly from Safari/Chrome/etc., and great for transferring files between IOS devices and my LAN. 1/17/18 Latest update is great, the app is still wonderful, but there seem to be two new problems: If the cache is full e.g., 503 MB when max is 500, and you start Remote File Mgr, it seems to just keep adding things to the cache without limit, eventually getting a System memory warming. Also, the "time between slides" menu in slideshow mode doesn't update its settings display when you change it (though the app honors the new value). Exiting and relaunching updates the menu. An older problem (as long as I'm here) is that when you start a slideshow in split screen mode, it will display slides as if it were full screen (i.e., cropping the photos to half screen, not scaling them). However, if you start a slideshow in full screen mode, you can go to split screen mode and it will scale properly, as expected. Feature request: could Remote File Manager support picture-in-picture? (Or floating window mode; I'm not sure of its name). Mostly for videos, but slideshow PIP would be cool as well. I still love it, though. Reliable and versatile!
  • Odd Behavior

    By Pd739
This app has been great for browsing through folders of images, but lately it has started to behave strangely when scrolling through a folder where all the thumbnails are not yet built. It looks like it’s stretching the entries and jumping around. Basically, it doesn’t scroll smoothly any more, until all the thumbnails are built.

  • Works Great

I contacted Apples Time Capsule Support service, before I knew about this app, and was told that my iPad was not a MacBook and couldn’t use my Time Capsule with my iPad. Now my iPad, using this app can, has well over 1 TB of storage capacity. This app is one of the best additions that users of IOS can add to their devices. You can even use this to move files to devices that are noncompliant with Apple network security protocols.

I'm super cheap, used the free version for almost a year. Just switched to the paid one and I'm loving it. Makes my life easy.

  • One of the classics

Using the full/paid version. It just works - nothing flashy, just a remarkably solid tool that gets the job done. Recently updated to account for Google's authentication requirements. As others have said - similar to Finder on OSX/macOS and provides a tool not natively available on iOS.
