If you want your app to play like Jordan Spieth use GolfShot! Hope you found this review helpful. If you did. You will ace a par 3 on your next round using GolfShot.

  • GPS settings must be reviewed

This is a great app as far as functions available within the app for tracking your game and stats. Users will need to adjust settings for real-time GPS. This was extremely frustrating in the beginning as I longed for the dedicated Golf GPS watch I had left at home. Looking forward to trying out again for the next game. Wish a yearly subscription was not required for only GPS use.

I wish if you paper score you didn’t have to go back and enter all holes one by one
  • Great then Lousy

My first time using it, it was great. Very responsive and accurate in comparison to my Garmin approach. So, I left the Garmin approach and continued using this on the Apple Watch and upgraded to the $29.99 features. Since then, it gets a little worse every time I use it. It is slow to respond and even seems to mess up my scoring. I may have to go back to pencil and paper if they don’t fix this.

UPDATE March 2018 - thank you shotzoom for the Apple Watch update - you have resolved the only major complaint I had about the app. (When you previously updated to use the native watch gps, it took so long for gps to get an accurate reading that the app was practically unusable for me on the watch.). The new update enables real time accurate readings on the watch with no lag. Amazing - well done - best golf app out there. ORIGINAL POST - Dec 2016 - I've tried and compared all the major golf gps / scoring apps on the market - GolfShot is the winner in my book. Apple Watch version has great interface, very usable. Occasionally I pull the iPhone out of my pocket for a satellite view of more complex situations, but generally the watch version is all I need to reference for distances and entering score and stats after each hole. I have just recently added the official handicap tracking feature and there's no easier way to keep your official handicap rating current. Just one feature on my wish list - the app needs to take advantage of the built in gps of the new version of Apple Watch so that you can leave the iPhone in the golf cart and still get an accurate read. They say they are working on this - hope they can get it released soon. UPDATE July 2017 - that one feature on my wish list has just been added in the latest release. Can't wait to test it this weekend.
  • Apple Watch app experience is poor

    By Multiple user
Ever since the latest updates that enabled GPS on the Apple Watch...experience using the Apple Watch has declined. Especially if you keep your phone on you to keep score....the connection between the watch and phone is non-existent...and yardages are never consistent between the two. With the latest update and turning off “watch GPS always ON”. Its even WORSE. You are forced to turn that feature on and eat the battery life on the watch...just to get updated yardages. This SHOULDN’T be if you keep your phone on you the WHOLE time and use the gps on the phone and not the watch.

  • Great Golf App

I've played over 500 rounds using Golf Shot since August 2009. It is easy to use and has lots of great features like: flyover preview of holes, a function to measure and average how far you hit each club (this helped me improve a lot) easily post each round to the USGA official handicap site...i could go on and on. Try it... I'm sure you will soon find it an invaluable asset to your game.

Don’t waste your money. Haven’t played a round yet (25 +) that I didn’t have to restart the app even though the app was open and running on my phone. Have adjusted the settings so the app should stay open on my watch, but most times I raise the watch and it shows the time. Too much work during the round for what it should do by itself.
