    Is this app is for weight loss newbies that need the basics explained to them? Noom is a bit basic and kinda goofy. Content wise, articles are written for 3rd graders and you can get the same information by reading any health or fitness magazine. Very few recipes I’m skeptical that the goal coaches are human and not bots. Mine was not helpful or inspiring. She’d answer a question or concern of mine with another question and take about a day to respond. Not exactly a messenger/WhatsApp style fluid conversation I expected. Messages are not time/date stamped either, obviously to cover that they are not timely responses. It also bugged me that Noom doesn’t work across devices.

    Learning about the calorie density of the foods I eat, logging the food I eat everyday and staying within my daily calorie budget for the past 18 weeks has been challenging but it has worked. I’ve lost 22 lbs and learned a lot.

  • Painful to use & program has problems

    I’ve had the app for a day. Entering my own brands of food is clunky: when it can’t find it you have to re-enter the whole name and description in the next screen. It also didn’t allow me to add a standard portion of the new item and then add multiples. I don’t have time to waste on doing this. It is further biased. It is only taking calories, not nutritional content or even the impact of combining foods into account. Not sure I’m going to continue with this app/program. I can see losing weight with this at the expense of losing nutrition. How much water is in food only fills you up temporarily. Protein is what keeps your stomach feeling full for longer, not grapes!!!

    I paid $1 for a one week trial. During that one week trial I was getting automated messages. The program itself is not worth your money. I cancelled before the one week deadline yet they charged me for a full month subscription!
