  • Impressed

It's a great learning app. I recommend that everyone use it to learn a new language. I love it!
  • Alright

I have learned so much in so little and it’s a great app but the thing is if you want to fully learn it you need to pay around 25 dollars or more in a year but other than that it’s awesome
  • Great App!

I love this app because it also teaches you phrases instead of just words and sentence structures, like other apps. As someone who already speaks Spanish as a second language really well, this has still been super helpful to me. 5/5
  • Bad Update! What’s going on??

    By AddisonGabe
I love Memrise a lot. I use it every morning when I wake up and it has done a lot for my French skills. I even bought the Pro subscription which I love. But this recent update has totally screwed stuff up. No longer will it give me 10 Words per session (even though I have it set in the settings), which makes it very long and annoying to reach my high daily goal when I have to do tons of sessions. Also, the typing question where to complete a word, I have to know it well enough to type it out seems to no longer be present. That’s a really bad idea because typing out the words did tons for my comprehension. Now I’m flying through words but don’t really feel like I’m learning them. PLEASE REPAIR THIS UPDATE!!!!
  • I enjoy it!

This is a very helpful app, but the only downside is the $60 per year. I enjoy learning a new language and learning the complexity of it, I wanted this app because it was very good for a reasonable amount. Until I saw the $60 per year, otherwise very good. - Coming from an A.R.M.Y >.<
  • New Update

App was working perfectly until the most recent update. Now the app only lets me learn three new words at a time despite having my settings changed to do ten. Is there any way to fix this?
  • Arabic

This app has been hands down the biggest difference maker in my learning of Modern Standard Arabic, so much that I am more than happy to pay for the pro subscription even though all I get out of it are the offline mode and difficult words (the other features are not available for my target language, unfortunately). However, the app has some pretty big drawbacks that its competitors do not suffer from. Principally, there is no way to set the difficulty of a word or to mark a word for increased repetitions. There’s also no way to study just a subset of words from a lesson. I’ve also found that creating your own lessons to more difficult than on Quizlet. Lastly, on a language specific note, when you spell out words in Arabic using the built in choice of letters it pushes all of the diacritics to the end of the word. I’ve noticed that this does not happen on the android version of the app so this makes it especially disappointing. There also seems to be a bug recently introduced to the app that makes it so that you can only learn three words per session no matter what your settings say. This makes it incredibly inefficient. Although the app could definitely use more polish and a lacks a few key features, I would still wholeheartedly recommend it to language learners. I’m holding out hope that these issues will be addressed soon!
  • Great for learning languages but...

This app is great for learning languages, but it keeps trying to make you pay for almost every feature, don’t get me wrong it is still helpful
  • Great free app; pro membership is a ripoff

    By Losing eggs
I loved Memrise’s free app. So much so that I purchased a pro membership for the year. For someone who almost never pays for apps, it was a significant investment. One I thought I’d be happy to make to support the app. However many of the features advertised are either not available for the languages I’m learning or really ineffective. It was a complete waste of money and a disappointing experience. Stick with the free version.
  • Updates Take Away Features

    By krickyreads
I loved this App when it first came out! I used it for ASL and Italian. Now I can’t even find the ASL option anywhere. I understand that they need money to invest in an App so I moved on and just stuck with Italian. I was using the app just yesterday and I could type the word(s) for correct spelling and to see if I knew the word(s) myself. Today when I logged in, it no longer allows me to type the words and I am only allowed to select from the 4 or so options provided. Please stop taking away features. I was highly considering getting the Pro Version because I love learning languages but I’m not sure I want to.
