  • Crucial for Grad school

Back in grad school and things have become much more advanced than when I was in undergrad! 70% of my books are electronic and I would be lost without this app. Other free apps including iBook, adobe and foxit crashed frequently when I tried to use it for my MASSIVE pathophysiology textbook file (the hard copy is at least 4 inches thick). This one doesn’t at all! Absolutely worth the money, thank!!

I’ve been using Goodreader for years. It’s an essential iOS app for all sorts of things. Highly recommended.
  • Abandoned and out of sync, literally

Sadly, the ‘urgent miniupdate’ 3 months ago did nothing to resolve the google sync issue. The program crashes every time i try and sync, but now after I waste my time completing multiple login screens. End verdict? Still useless for people using Sync and effectively abandoned. Prior review follows... —————— The app is over a year out of date, which would be ok if old functionality still worked. Unfortunately, the app will no longer sync with Google Drive due to failed permissions. Version 5 has been promised for over 9 months based on developer response to other reviews. Multiple posts online indicate the developer has known of the issue for over 6 months and made no move to release a fix. Instead, they suggest people switch cloud services pending release of 5. Ridiculous! My suspicion is that they will do what they did before which is release a ‘new’ product with 5 (like they did with 4) so they can try and force new app purchases. The app would get only one star given shoddy practices and customer service. However, I have it 2 since it does still work - IF you can get your files in.

Opens everything I use. A must tool. Best way to view a folder of PDFs and other important files, i.e., price lists and catalogs. I drag a folder from my computer (keep my masters) to iPads via iTunes, a much quicker way to update my files. Images viewing can be improve but it does work, good enough.

This app is so great, that I have to buy it twice. And, that’s my issue. I upgraded my iPad, and the previous version of the app wasn’t compatible with the new iOS. So I have to pay twice! When most of my apps from previous backup where fine. Most of them updated with new features, not having to pay one cent.

But I no longer use it because it won’t sync w Dropbox. Crashes everytime. I’ve been waiting, hoping new version of Goodreader or iOS would correct the problem (am up to date on both). But alas, no.
