  • Some great usability with room to grow.

The main reason I got this app was to be able to search my handwritten notes in the future which I am very impressed with so far. I’m a little dissatisfied with lack of control in filing notes/ notebooks in to folders, limited paper choices/ hideous cover designs, and not having the option to choose whether I want to continue to scroll my pages as opposed to having to swipe to set up a new page. I’ve used more attractive note taking apps but being able to search my hand written notes without having to pay the ridiculous fees with Evernote is fantastic. I imagine this app will just get better. To add to my wish list I’d also like the ability to create sub folders/ categories to further organize notes and documents. Also the ability to arrange the notes in any location I want without being limited by only the built in name and date options. My folders are becoming cluttered and difficult to search without having to type in a key word. Hopefully we’ll see a substantial update soon.
  • Exactly what I was looking for as a college student

Got a new iPad Pro. Tried tons of other apps for taking notes with my Apple Pencil during lectures. No other did it. For the cost of a single composition notebook you’re buying infinite notebooks with this app and saving so many trees. The design is great and the iCloud interface makes it easy to review notes on all my devices. Bless you!💕
  • Zoom feature bugged

    By julianjlavoie
I was liking the app until I used the zoom feature and it changed everything I wrote into a random pile of lines. Then I looked for a place to write the developer but found nothing. So here I am reporting a problem in a review. App is not worth 7 dollars as is.
  • Almost perfect

May 21 pdf hyperlinks still do not work!!!! Anything imported as a PDF with hyperlinks will not work if I import a pdf into the GoodNotes via the Mac app and export it as a goodnotes file the links work on the ipad and iPhone apps. But if import a pdf straight into the iPad/ iPhone app they don’t function at all. One person who purchased one of my planners has been totally unable to import the file no matter how many ways she tried Dropbox/direct link/saved to phone it goes through the import process and then never show into the app. This app is great when it’s working but major issues like these need to be addressed. This app is great I've been using it a long time and making my own planners for it. I wish there was the ability to add links and slide clicks from within the app instead of having to use alternative apps like keynote. Also the fact there is no eye dropper tool is frustrating it seems like such a basic feature not sure why it hasnt been implemented because having to use another app to get color hex codes is really annoying. I also wish there were font choices. If you fixed at least the first 2 things this app would be perfect!!! 4/30/18 I haven’t updated to the latest version because people have been complaining about hyper links with the planners I make and sell not working on the latest update. This functionality is key I am bringing GoodNotes new customers but right now have had to halt selling planners to new customers because the hyperlinks within the planners don’t work for everyone. Please take a look at this bug and get it fixed!!!!! I sent a support ticket last week and still have not gotten a response.

I want a running text recognition. Also,I need locks for my notebooks. This is amazing by the way.
  • I’ll need one more feature before I can love it

I wish GoodNotes gave us the ability to have several preset pens. I like being able to switch quickly between pen sizes and colors on OneNote, and the fact that it is free makes it the best out there, in my opinion. But because I paid 8 dollars for GoodNotes, I want to give some feedback so that one day the same pen features may be implemented in this app. Otherwise, I love the paper customization.

  • More fonts & links

    By jsofancy
Please please please add the capability to use all of the fonts installed in the system. Also there needs to be a way to make any item a clickable link to both a website or another notebook page. Otherwise this app is amazing & helps to make life, business & projects extremely organized!! Please add these features soon. I’d even pay more for the app if needed!
  • But...

Can we have a shape that will allow a curved line other than a circle/oval/ like a sine curve? Also, I would like to be able to rotate an image on the page. Otherwise, I love this app.

I bought an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil in anticipation of going back to school while juggling creative projects. Those combined with this app, best investment of my life! This app lets you not only have as many notebooks as you want, you can also organize them! So now all my project notes are in one place, and my school notes are in another. No more juggling spiral notebooks, or getting mad because I left the notes from a certain class at home. There is a bit of a learning curve when you first begin, but I follow them on instagram and they share all kinds of tips and tricks on there— even ones that other users have shared! I did worry at first that it wouldn’t be worth the price— after all Trello, Asana and Notepad are all free, but this offers soooo much more. 15/10, definitely recommend and would buy again!
